Help Your Child Succeed
Well this is my first blog ever so let me give you some background. I am 31 years old, I have been in the education field for over 9 years, I have my masters in Reading and I have 2 lovely children (ages 7 months and 2 1/2). It saddens me to see how the education of children is no longer the priority of every parent. As teachers most of us are in this profession because we know the importance of an education and work hard to make sure kids are learning. Unfortunately learning begins in the womb. I never understood how I would get students in Kindergarden, first and second grade who did not know the alphabet and numbers. My daughter is a sponge at age 2. She can point out any letter in the alphabet, spell her name, tell you what word starts with what letter, and any number up to 12. WHY?? She is not a genius. Because I make learning these things fun, IMPORTANT and interesting. So when I hear that teachers are getting blamed for bad test scores. Parents NEED to do their part to help their children succeed.
